SIGNALS
Signal is a series of photographic works by Vukašin Delević that explores how we perceive meaning within the urban landscape. Each image captures a fragment of the city—raw, minimal, and emotionally charged—and transforms it into a poetic visual interruption, a signal that shifts the way we see reality.
These photographs do not offer fixed interpretations. Instead, they invite the viewer to enter freely, without predetermined meaning. Geometry, color, and subtle detail guide us gently through scenes that feel both distant and intimate. The result is a quiet dialogue between the coldness of the city and our own inner responses.
Delević’s signals are not messages with clear answers; they are open invitations. They ask us to look, to feel, and to discover our own meaning within the frame. In this delicate balance of seriousness and subtle humor, the work carries its deepest truth: life itself is a signal we shape—where even a touch of comedy becomes a form of consolation.
CASSETTE
Cassette is the project through which Vukašin Delević began his artistic journey, culminating in his first solo exhibition. Inspired by the cassette tapes of his childhood—an era of rewinding, recording, and playful experimentation—Delević revisits this familiar object as a symbol of memory, identity, and creative formation.
The project includes printmaking, photography, and photo collages. Urban walls, windows, and street fragments become visual echoes of a cassette: rectangular shapes, circular forms, and quiet traces of time. The two circles of the tape often appear symbolically as the sun and the moon, while the track between them becomes a metaphor for life—its movement, energy, and rhythm.
From a philosophical view, the cassette represents a union of opposites: a rectangular base held together by two circles, a symbolic coniunctio oppositorum. In this reading, Luna and Sol meet within the same form, reflecting individuality, growth, and the ongoing process of becoming.
Each cassette in Delević’s work is unique in motif yet universal in meaning. Together they trace a path of self-realization—moving through repetition, tension, and harmony—toward inner liberation.
